New Year's Update
So I ended up not going to Kara's place because I called home and my mother was not feeling well. But by the time I got home, there was a note on the door saying that my mother had been taken to the hospital for low blood sugar and that I could find her at Brigham & Women's. So I walked all the way home just so I could walk back to B&W's Emergency Room. Brought my mom her coat and we ended up spending New Year's in the hospital. Woo hoo! The nurse ended up bringing a cup of cider as a means of celebrating a new year. On an interesting twist of fate though, I ended up running into an old elementary school classmate. She was admitted for excessive drinking and falling down a flight of stairs. Funny thing is that after she was calmed down, she recognized me from the Farragut and kept calling me "Flagpole". There is a story about that that I will go into at another time. Anyway, we ended up leaving around 3 in the morning and got home around 3:45. We stayed up until about 6 because I was too agitated too go to bed.
Woke up at around 3:30 this afternoon and was in agonizing pain. My jaw is sore and I can not open my mouth very wide today. The left side of my jaw feels swollen and I do not know why. Either the last wisdom tooth is trying to come in, a tooth infection is occurring or I may be suffering from TMJ, which I have never been diagnosed for. The funny thing is that I have been having problems with the left side of my jaw ever since I was 13. One day, I yawned and I heard this extra loud pop near my ear. I went to the doctor and he said that it may be due to my jaw trying to grow since I was in puberty at that time. But the other side never popped and the left side sounds like something has shifted out of place. Until now though, it has never been a problem. But today it is sore and swollen. I have already taken four tylenol since I've been up and that has made a minimal impact on the pain. My mother thinks that my jawline is somehow trying to change the structure. If the pain does not subside or gets worse tomorrow, then I am going to the emergency room. So for the rest of the day, I just lounged around the house and read magazines. Then I decide that I would get some fresh air and buy a few items at CVS, only to find out that they are closed today. So I decided that I would go to the school and get some stuff done, which is kind of what I am doing now.
Glad to hear that everyone had a great time last night and that no one is too hung over to remember what happened. I am going back to work now so that I can leave hear by midnight tonight.
