Things have been very good today (once I left the house). I am at Glenn's just relaxing and listening to the Scissor Sisters CD that he bought for me. We went to Haymarket, then to Quincy Market and Fanueil Hall, bought lunch, checked out some Australian-sounding guy who was doing acrobatic tricks with two girls and some props, then had lunch. We ended up having lunch, backtracked the above-mentioned voyage and then went to TJ Maxx where I saw Professor Gillis. Glenn bought a pillow and we went to Filene's and Filene's Basement where Glenn was trying to convince me that I would look good wearing a tank top. I think I wouldn't because I don't see myself as having a good upper body. He thinks that since I am toned I should show that off more. In any case, I ended up convincing him not to buy one for me. Then we went to Strawberries and I told him that I was looking for Scissor Sisters. He found it before I did and insisted on buying it for me. I was very happy about that.
We got on the T and headed back to his place where I treated him to an extra thick frappe (after he treated us to dessert at one of the stands in Quincy Market). He had his Frappe and I my Sprite outside. I met some of his neighbors while he was doing his good deed of sweeping the section of the street. Then he went one step further and created a border with yellow spray paint while I watched for cops and watched him. We headed in almost an hour ago.
I love days like this. Days filled with excitement over places not yet journeyed, which are many since I don't venture outside of Boston very often or MA ever. I am glad that we went out and did that type of stuff. This is always the sort of thing that I encourage all of the new students to do, but never do myself because my "office" always has a shitload of tasks that need to be done or else the world as I know it will surely end. I need to let go more often and embrace the big world out there. Or at least what Boston has to off would be a good start. Maybe this is the summer to do that.
Ok now I have to go take a shower, so if anything "earth-shattering" happens, I will update. Ciao!
