Sid Pink, like the pope, must die. What originally made Sid interesting was that he could do and say the things nobody else dared to. But then he, as all things eventually do, became post-modern and ironic. By being the man who could say anything it became safe and expected for him to do so. I have to agree, kid. I've spoken with you. The REAL you. You were dressed up like Sid and "acting" like Sid, but somewhere you accidently dropped the façade and became you. It was great. You ARE a deeply intelligent, interesting human being. I'm sure that it's fun to have an alter-ego, but it's waaay more fun to let go of the charade and wrestle with the real thing. It sucks sometimes. It's scary as all fucking hell, but it's REAL, and being and feeling REAL is where you will find the substance that you constanly discover lacking. Then you may start to break through and start having real feelings like real happiness and real greif. Believe me, I prefer a year of honest-to-goodness gut-wrenching feelings of loss and sorrow over a night of amivalence mired in a shroud of depression ( ... )
