Church Buddies

Robin is very church savvy. she takes after her namesake that way. Robin Bachand spent her whole life in churches, and so far, Robin Bliss is following suit. Ever since she was old enough to make the walk from the Parsonage next door, she has attended Sunday worship with Nanny. She eats her little baggie of Cheerios, empties out her Nanny's purse, pays too much attention to the people in the pew behind her, but she sits - usually quietly - and worships along with everyone else. The payoff? Afterwards, "Jesus gives me donuts!" Robin would quickly tell you that the best part of church is not the music or the sermons, but the goodies arrayed on the table at the fellowship hour. Robin avidly partakes. She travels throughout the forest of legs, trailing the little red wagon from the toybox as a sort of ambassador of all that is good, eliciting smiles and casting joy as she goes.

Wherever we are, Robin leads the table grace, whether it's in the restaurant, where she makes the waitress stand reverently as we fold our hands - or in the car after picking up her favorite "punkin muffin" from "Nunkin Donuts". She folds her little hands and says "God is great. God is good. I want thank you for my food. A-MEN!" She knows the Lord's prayer as well, and concludes each day with an intercessory prayer for everyone she knows, including "Dave, who takes me outside without any shoes".

Robin loves everybody and loves to participate. When asked what role she wanted to take in the Christmas Pageant, without hesitating, she responded: "Shepherd". (She has already done sheep and angel). So she was a slick looking shepherd, complete with wooden staff and stuffed sheep, which she hoisted around by the feet. She took time out during the pageant to hug one of the angels.

Robin is not window trappings when she goes to church. She is not there to add any wholesome cuteness. She is the real deal. Robin is the image of God.
