My neighbor

I have a new neighbor - 2 months now. If I go out of my room and turn left, her door is there. Sometimes it is open, and she asks me if I want to come in. I step over the gate and sit in the big pink chair and we read Shel Silverstein's "Where the Sidewalk Ends" together. Other times, she shows me how her toys work. Occasionaly, she is asleep on the floor with her bum in the air. On those occasions, I scoop her up and dump her into her "big girl bed". Her Lambie is always clutched tightly in her hand.

This morning, I hear steady waves of 2 year old laughter coming from her room - which probably means that the cat, Feste, has leaped the gate and is holding forth on her dresser as she slaps him and throws large toys at him. Feste loves torture. He's a very strange cat.

Yesterday, my neighbor wowed everybody at church with her cowboy boots, prairie skirt and curls. Today, she is sporting her Tom Brady shirt and sparkly jeans. We like to have coffee and a muffin together frequently, which is quite neighborly indeed.

"It's a neighborly day in this beauty-wood."
