December 19 → what you learned this year
Oh boy. Hm.
I learned what the P vs. NP problem is. I learned that Virgin Atlantic is a better airline than British Airways even though its brand is so much more annoying. I learned about sand erasers. I learned that, in spite of everything, I really did need to move back to California. I learned that Ea-Nasir probably wasn't that bad of a copper merchant. I learned more about Pete Townshend than I ever imagined I would. I learned that the town of St. Albans, Hertfordshire, while picturesque, is very steep.
I learned what Siddhartha is about. I learned a lot about my father's accessibility needs, the hard way. I learned that I still can't figure out if someone likes me back or not. I learned that my guinea pig really does miss me when I go away. I learned which of my high school friends had carried her tankie preferences to their natural conclusion and become a full-blown antisemite. I learned about the romantic complications of several rooks at the Cambridge Corvid Laboratory.
I learned how to fold a little paper trash bin out of a piece of scrap paper. I learned how to make gluten-free toast in a shared kitchen. I learned how to play a few chords.
