Am I back? Maybe! This was in my drafts, so I finished the questions that I started and cut the ones I couldn't easily think of an answer to.
Which TV shows (etc.) did you start watching in 2019?
Russian Doll, Agent Carter, Emergence, Marvel's Runaways, The Sinner, Watchmen, NOS4A2, The Haunting of Hill House, Film Reroll (podcast), Dungeons & Daddies (podcast)
Which TV shows (etc.) did you let go of in 2019?
I got behind on The Adventure Zone (podcast) earlier this year and I still haven't gone back and finished listening to the Amnesty arc. (I know the finale is great! Everyone has told me!) I still plan to finish Amnesty, but I'm not interested in the Graduation arc because I don't enjoy Travis's DMing.
Sadly this was the last season for Madam Secretary - but I still have some of it to watch, since I fell behind in the previous season.
Which TV shows (etc.) did you mean to get into but didn't in 2019? Why?
Started but put aside: Barry (the domestic violence storyline was too authentic to watch)
Kept meaning to watch but just haven't: Fosse/Verdon, His Dark Materials, Schitt's Creek, Siren, Claws, Instinct, Homeland, The Terror
Your favorite film you watched this year?
A lot came out in 2019, and I've still only seen a little bit of it! And while I saw Endgame five times and It Chapter Two about three and three-quarters times in the cinema, Knives Out was pound-for-pound better as a movie.
Your favorite TV show(s) of the year?
Russian Doll, Watchmen, Emergence
Your best new fandom discovery of the year?
So, I had my fall and winter all planned out, it was going to be wall-to-wall Marvel until TROS premiered in December, and then all of a sudden It Chapter Two was like "would you like to be sad about middle age and people trying to repair their own childhood selves and also an actually canonically gay principal character fights monsters and survives the horror movie" and I was like... I'm listening? And 3 1/2 months later I am
still absolutely feral over the clown movies (/miniseries/book, although I'm only about 300 pages into the book. the thing is a fucking brick, it's like getting into an unhinged alternate-reality version of Les Mis fandom).
Your fandom that made an unexpected comeback this year?
Iron Man, dormant in me personally for 27 about 10 years
Your biggest fandom disappointment of the year?
Who the fuck has the time for fandom disappointments. Rey had to kiss Kylo Ren on the lips in canon and I barely fucking cared. You guys know they're trying to overturn Roe v. Wade, right? Please tell me you at least know who your representatives in the state legislature are. No, not the U.S. Congress, your state legis-- just look it up
Your biggest squee moment of the year?
That sick fucking flip in the TROS trailer
The most missed of your old fandoms?
Do I really miss any of them? They gave me their gifts and they went on their way. Sometimes I miss Stargate Atlantis at the height of its activity level. I used to like doing the flash challenges on that one comm.
