This bit, ‘there was an evil look in his eyes as he stepped in a little closer as if to kiss her’ is Very Fool For Love - Perfectly written. Karel is a very cruel, manipulative arsehole, playing Kurtis and Lara like that. First he makes out with Kurtis then slits his throat, before coming onto Lara!
" Death stalks you from the beginning. And yet some small part of you welcomes it." - Ohh, wow, I love it! Karel can read Lara like a book, and was able to overpower her and knock her off guard easily by exploiting her curiosity about - and wish for - death, by claiming that she has some kind of Freudian death wish and has been on self-destruct mode since she survived Egypt!
It is really excellently well written, I love the emotion your writing style is able to give to Lara, you’ve remained very truthful to how her more bitter AOD Lara behaves and explored why she has this more pessimistic outlook. You’re Lara is one of the best I’ve read in years - she has humanity and makes mistakes and feels shame and guilt - it’s wonderful!

And I'm so glad that you like my emo Lara :D I was afraid I might have went too far with it but people keep telling me that she is very much in character, so yay!
