The Final Fortnight (part 2)

Dec 10, 2004 22:26

okay, so, for those of you who remember, (and if you do, you're definitely way too obsessed with my lj), i had an entry marked, "The Final Fortnight" back on march 6th. well, we've come to the flip side of that final fortnight saying as this is my final fortnight (two weeks) in indiana. yes, ladies and gentlemen, i'm home two weeks from today. to quote my earlier entry: "how creepy and yet exciting". so i haven't updated for about two weeks, and there's a reason for that. in that time, i was on the verge of obtaining an apartment and if i had written about it, i knew i was going to jinx it and we wouldn't get it. well, it doesn't matter because we didn't get it anyway, so you lose out on two weeks of exciting ljs because of my stupidity. anyway, keith is seeing 19 (yeah, 19) apartments, this weekend, one of which, if it's open, we're going to take on the spot. i'll let you know if we get it. seussical continues much as it has, with weak audiences during the week and great ones on the weekends. adam and his mother and sister came to the show last night. needless to say, i was a little nervous. but they loved it. then adam came karaokeing with us. we went to this bar, pete's, to karaoke last thursday and it was a lot of fun. i sang HOOKED ON A FEELING. this week, i tackled SHAME ON YOU and, sorry tj, YOUR BODY IS A WONDERLAND. well, everyone else was singing to someone; why couldn't i?! it was a good time, but i paid for it today when i had to sub. but the nice part of the day was that the kids watched PAY IT FORWARD all day. it only sucked because i had to watch the same movie 4 times and i didn't get to finish it any of the times i watched it. ah, well, at least i liked the movie. so, my big is coming out to see me next friday. that's freaky. i didn't even realize until this moment that he was going to be here next week. that's awesome. it's really winding down fast. i have xmas gift shopping and crocheting to do. i've been observing channukkah. the kids and i played dreidel - fun times. they made me tell the story too. :) on sunday, i'm going to a church to see kristyn do a monologue about channukkah and how it relates to christ. i'm quite annoyed by that, but i'm going to support her, not what she's saying. she's a friend and she asked me to come, so i'm supporting her theatrically, not religiously. i wanted to get into a big argument with her and explain that channukkah really has nothing to do with jesus, but we were in the dressing room before the show and i didn't want to get into it with her right then. there hasn't been time since, and it's really not worth the argument, honestly. it still rubs me the wrong way, though. i'm sure any family member of mine who reads this will understand. maybe it's wrong to express the religious opinion on lj, but hey, it's how i'm feeling about it. she's always saying to me that not everything has to do with sex (i make a lot of innuendos), and i really want to turn around right now and say to her that not everything has to do with christ either. oh well. like i said, not worth it. other than that, things seem to be going well. sorry to rant. :) looking forward to coming home. it's gonna be weird. 9 months is a long time. i'm gonna go get some sleep though, cuz i need it. it's a 13 show week. hugs and love to all back home!
