Anyway, the film looks AMAZING, and this video is just gorgeous.  I practically lived off of this CD by Natalie Merchant in the late 90s anyway, and it has great ( Read more... )

I don't know this film, but the actress is beautiful, and the song here is so haunting.

She's stunning! And so is the music.

Might be worth it to get a dvd player for foreign format?

Well, we are currently thinking of upgrading some of our electronics. I wonder how much a DVD player would be that would play both.

Perhaps the BBC will pick it up?

I can watch Region 2 DVDs on my computer and many DVD players have a code you can change to make them region-free. Does yours?

I'll have to ask Tom...I bet he'd know.

I tend to fidget when I watch things on my computer, for whatever reason. But it might still be worth it for this one. Had you heard of it?

Romola Garai's definitely one of my favorites. For the longest time I kept forgetting to IMDB her and find out who she was, but she kept popping up in great movies I was watching, and each time I'd say "who IS that??"

I thought of you with this video in the part near the end where she gazes at her reflection with the woman brushing her hair, and the black cat on the counter in front of the mirror. I thought "oh that looks like a Merle portrait!" Very dramatic and lovely. That's my favorite part of the video too.
