griping as usual
Feeling a little better about my class now. It helps to have things actually prepared before lecturing. Go figure. Still pissed about not being able to apply for those 2 positions, though. Oh well. Maybe Central AZ has something.
Got my assignment for the AR fiction exchange. I think I've got a plot bunny going finally. It's dark--I hope my recipient doesn't hate it, but I'm feeling angsty in a big way.
Also working hard on the fic for the Cottle MOL. I love Doc Cottle. I wish he was in more episodes.
I'm happy that I got the new novel today as well. I only had to go to, like, three bookstores to get it. Fuck. If I owned a bookstore, I would SO stock it with all things sci-fi and stay right on top of new releases. No one would ever have to go anywhere else to find a sci-fi book if it's in print. Mabe even if it's not in print. That might be fun to do, open a bookstore. But then The Man would come in and take it over or run me out of business, I suppose. I kinda hate Barnes and Noble, even though they give discounts.
Ooh, we're getting rain! It's awesome. I'm surprised my street isn't flooded. Usually the greenbelt floods when we get any little bit of wet from the sky. It was flooded earlier last week, but I think it was from flash floods by Tucson. We certainly didn't get any rain up here that week. It was really nice. Not too hot at all and it dumped buckets at work. It was really hard to be at work today. It was the perfect day to stay home in bed and watch movies and read and take many naps. Since I had to go to work, it was very tempting to go to the zoo, since it's right up the road. All the animals would have been out, I bet, enjoying the cool weather. I like to go to the zoo and feed the little ground squirrels. Like those are special. They're everywhere! But the ones at the zoo seem to know that if they're cute enough, someone like me will try to feed them animal crackers. A couple times, I even got some to come take the cracker right out of my hand. I'll probably get rabies, but at least they're cute.
