Hello!! XD
Tried it out already. It's real cool! lol. >.<
Here's the result. Quite a clusmy attempt, I realised that I should have coloured the picture before cropping it, but now couldn't find the original anymore. >.> I think it'll look better with a border too? Hmmm....

By the way, is it possible to rotate the brush? I think some of it will better in a different direction, but I can't figure it out.

Hello!!!
Quite a nice result :)

- I don't think you need a border, I like it that way at least, but the best thing is to try and see. You can always erase the last steps and come back to what you had before. Or, even better: create a new layer for everything you add! That way, you will only have to hide or delete it to see the difference :)

- I don't think there is a way to rotate brushes *checks* Nope, not that I can see at least, but you can rotate the picture: Link to screencap (as I have the french version, I can't explain in another way, I wouldn't know how things are named in english XD ).

- I think (quite a change after 2 I don't think rofl!), anyway, I think coloring before or after cropping isn't big deal :) But remember to save your start picture next time in case you mess up ~_ ( ... )

Wow...o.o LOL. I should be thanking you for all your comments, so please don't apologize!

I was thinking of how to make the font clearer actually! XD So thanks for the suggestions! And I didn't think of rotating the picture instead....Hmmm.

LOL! Even when you "don't think", you need to think to do that! =P I thought colouring before cropping will be easier because the image will be bigger, hence easier to see the details. ^^;;

Well, I'll go work on it, will show you again after I made the changes. ^__^

Well, I'm glad to be helpful ~_^

When your image is small, to work on it more easily, you can zoom on it: select the magnifying glass in the tools sidebar and then on the top you have several options: pixels (show real size) - adapt to screen (that's what you'll use when working on something as small as an icon) (I will take a screencap after work to show you :)
This should make things easier to work on you icon! :)

I know. I try zooming it, but the borders become so pixelified? that it's hard to see. ^^;; You don't have to screencap it if you haven't!! Because I understand exactly what you're saying. ^__^

The wording isn't turning out so well....I can't seem to make it clearer(besides using stroke and making a nice thick red border around the words) Do you think perhaps it's the font I use? Maybe it's too cursive?

Oh yes it does! lol! Well adjusting it to screen helps seeing the whole image so you know where you work :) It's just a matter of work eand experiment ~_^

I think I used the same font on my example... Or at least something very similar: what I did thanks to the text tool box was: enlarging the space between the letters and making the font a bit more higher... Something like 120% Just play around and try things. If you do something and it's not working then try again! :)
Do you have MSN? If you do we could maybe find some time this week-end to work together :)
My MSN adress is sidh_lj [at] hotmail.com or if you prefer emails you can find me at soca_09 [at] yahoo.com
