Today is "Australia's Biggest Morning Tea" - a national charity event where you pay $2 to attend a morning tea and the money goes to charity. We do it at work each year. We got caters in to supply the food. It was yummy! You pay the money and then it's an all-you-can-eat morning tea. I only had two mini muffins, I wasn't very hungary. But I gave my money and it all goes to a good cause.
At work we've now started doing the "Global Corporate Challenge". We have to wear a pedometer every day (even weekends) for the next 4 months to record how many steps we walk each day. It's pretty easy really, you don't have to do anything but remember to wear the pedometer each day and record the results. A healthy person is supposed to walk 10, 000 steps each day. I'm curious to see if I'll reach that target. I do a lot of walking in my every-day job and activities so I'm sure it won't be a problem. There's no prize at the end of it, it's just an activity to see how fit you are. At the end of each day, you record how many steps you've walked on a website and it calculates the distance you've walked. At the end of the 4 months we should have walked around the world! You start the challenge in Chile and work you way around the world. It's only imaginary of course, but quite fun.
