As one of my fellow probably-soon-to-be-graduating classmates noted, we are confronting a big life change. And it's scary.
I don't know what frightens her, but the thought of my crack supply academic research db access being cut off gives me heart palpitations.
Happily, the ever thoughtful head librarian at school has anticipated my needs. She writes bounteous documentation, in which I found the advice that getting a NY Public Library card -- $100/yr for non-residents -- gets access to all sorts of useful dbs.
(For the record, a MA public library card also gets you access to research dbs, none of which actually seem to be the ones I care about.)
In particular, it will allow me to have remote access to EBSCOhost, w/ the behavioral health and psychology collection. *phew*! It also has remote access for many other no-doubt wonderful things. Not at all a bad deal for $100/yr.
I'll try it and let you all know how it goes.
I need to figure out the chief librarian's office and send her flowers.
