This is not being a great day for technology. My email is down (and apparently bouncing) due to the disk being full on the server on which I'm renting space. Started around 1pm. I assume the congestion on the disk is the result of Something Bad Happening.
Le sigh. Not like my entire economic existence is networked through that account or anything.
(I have nightly backups of the contents, so I haven't lost anything, AFAIK.)
ETA Aaaaaand we're back. Here's to public humiliation of corporations via Twitter.
ETA2 12:30a Aaaaaaand we're down again. Apparently they "magically" just gave the server more disk space without figuring out what was filling it up in the first place.
I was in the middle of an epic long Siderea Post too, and emacs, in the process of discovering it couldn't write to disk zeroed out the file on disk, leaving the most recent copy of the 270 paragraph monster unsaved in my emacs buffer. Thank goodness for AngeFTP and TRAMP, and the fact that my faith that emacs is omnipotent was born out. May FSM bless and keep rms, Ange, and the FSF in his noodly appendages forever and ever, ramen. ETA3:
Ob XKCD.
