Madcap Recap...
-Taking stock, after the holidays wrapped up, I am a very happy Ren. Dej and I got The Guy a new sewing machine. Its even a couple of steps up from my new machine! He seemed very pleased. My mother loved the Kindle, as well. She was so excited to try it out and she had no issues with figuring out how it all works, which saved me quite a bit of trouble, explaining, lol! We also made my dad a rather large stained glass mirror with the Brundage Family arms. That made him happy, and he didn't see it coming since the laptop was his birthday and Christmas present ; )
-And me? Well, I got a gorgeous, glass fleur de lys decanter set! I also got a silicone fleur de lys mini muffin pan, and a new silicone castle pan and my standing mixer and a new cake decoration turntable and various other bits for baking! I think the best part, though, was spending the holidays with my Beloveds and family, and getting to hold my new nephew for the first time!!
-So, up and coming. Heronter 12th Night, I have some baking to do. I wanted to do some cookie decorating with the kids, and Lodthinn asked if I would be interested in taking over on making the King cakes. I found an awesome, red cupcake stand with snowflakes that pass as escarbuncles! I am thinking I will make cupcakes with buttercream swirl roses and then little fondant crowns...or jester hats...or both : ) And the castle pan is small enough that I can make a small cake to go on top of the stand. I can use the fleur molds to add fleurs and make the cake to resemble the Aethelmearc fleur crowns. It shall be fun!
