Tremble Foolish Mortals: The Gods and You

Course outline: A "fair and unbiased" look at various gods and religions that have been worshipped by humans over the centuries. Particular emphasis on the Greek Panthenon for some bizarre reason.

Syllabus (Subject to change)

1. Class Introduction
2. Ares: The God, the Myth, the Legend
3. Zeus and Hera: Mom and Dad
4. Strife and Discord: Dearly missed lackeys.
5. Aphrodite and Cupid: Well, I guess we should talk about love some time.
6. Hercules: Not a god. So stop talking about him.
7. Callisto: Why mortals should lay off the ambrosia.
Mid-Term Break
8. Hades: Loser.
9. Dahak: The Father-In-Law from Hell, literally.
10. The God of Eli: Trust me, he sucks like a sucking thing that sucks.
11. TBA
12. TBA
13. The Flying Spagetti Monster: God or snack?
14. Final

Class Requirements: Sign in. While you'll end up with a higher mark the more you participate, that's all you need to do to pass. There'll be some interactive type stuff in class, and a final, but handwaving is fine.

Detention: While Ares is the kind of god to fling out detention at the slightest provocation, I'm much more mellow, you'll pretty much get detention only if you miss three consecutive classes without IC or OOC reasons, (and considering that classes will be open for slowplay pretty much until the next one opens you'll have to work at that), or if you ask for it either OOC, (he'll come up with completely absurd reasons if he has to), or IC, for example, if your characters give Ares any major kind of attitude (some snark is okay and even encouraged) or act in a particularly stupid manner.

After all, he's a god, he's used to smiting anyone who sasses him, detention is postively restrained.

Ares is going to need a couple of minions lackeys TAs, who'll be expected to post classes if I can't, and possibly help with NPCs for the Final and possibly a couple of classes. Knowlege of Xena/Hercules canon is a major plus, but not necessary. Comment here if you're interested, all comments to this post will be screened. Filled!

Finally, courtesy ihatedenmark, Ares is a sexy man in leather. He has a temper. Keep both of these in mind, and you'll pass.
