Battles Without Honor and Humanity: Deadly Fight in Hiroshima & Man with a Shotgun

First up was the second film in the Battles Without Honor and Humanity series. Much better than the first installment, thanks to the great Sonny Chiba, who plays an insane Yakuza boss.

Then it was a Seijun Suzuki Nikkatsu "Japanese Western." Basically the Western trope, loner comes to town to put things right, shady past, etc. only set in "modern" 1960's Japan. In true Suzuki form, the ending was great! The man could take the most basic elements and turn them into something special. Maybe not up there with his great films, but still a solid Nikkatsu film!
