The wildflowers have started coming up in the garden and on the porch. The ones in the garden being my main contribution. I don't know why more people don't do this, all those odd corners in a yard or garden, just buy a few packets of wildflower seeds, spread them around, let nature do the rest. Within a few weeks of the growing season it looks amazing. Birds and bees and butterflies start showing up.

In other news, my CARES Act money hit the account. That whole thing went from being impossible to get, to ridiculously easy. Too easy. Regardless, I now have a pretty good safety net. Week long gig starting Monday. Worst case, I'm fine well into next year now. It's not about the short-money, it's about the long-money. I'm more than ok for the short-term. What does a few months from now look like? If nothing else, this election is going to be huge.

Re-upped the farm meat subscription. Meat prices at the store have gone up 25% since the beginning of the year. I signed up for a 6 month subscription this time. Got good meat through the end of the year at a set price. No brainer. Fresh meat right from the farm, good cuts, don't have to worry about the supply, don't have to go to the store. Combined with the garden producing what it is and a full pantry, food it more than taken care of.

Sadly, today is a chore day. I have a list, I'll be working through it.

garden, food, pandemic, summer
