I Love it When a Plan Comes Together

I love making art, creating things from bits and pieces of other things. I especially love it when an idea pops in my head, and turns out better in execution than it looked in my imagination.

I work in 4x4 or 3x6 glass tiles, creating mixed media pieces. I fasten picture hangers on the backs, as these are wall pieces. The problem with the 3x6 tiles is the fastening; if I put the hanger in the middle of a landscape positioned piece, it won't be strong enough to support the hanging. So until now, all the 3x6 pieces have been in portrait position.

Then I got an idea from looking at some jewelry someone made for me, and determined to give it a try. The result is Come, Lady Death, mixed media on glass tile, with chain-&-jewel hanger.

This is the last piece I'm making before the craft fair tomorrow, the Pagan Marketplace of Ideas, running from 11:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. at the One World Spiritual Center, 3535 Shallowford Road Northeast, Marietta, GA 30062. If you're there, come by and say hello. I'll be sharing a booth with Better to Light a Candle Creations.
