yeah, my interest in WWII/the USSR/socialism started when we were shown "enemy at the gates" years ago in school, and also when i found out my grandfather may have been in the red army (no one really knows much about him, my dad only met him once when he was a kid) - but as far as my interest in socialism, pretty much radical politics (mostly the commies and the nazis) in general are fascinating to me, i suppose it's the element of phsychological control?

my highschool theory of knowledge class sparked alot of that interest, as well as my highschool history teacher (who was a polish flaaaaming leftist, quite a funny man really..) encouraging us to really research everything we could to properly formulate justified opinions, but also do all we could to raise hell if we didn't agree with something going on that affected us. i actually remember a few small protests about irrelevant bullshit, to which our history teacher said "well...it's not like were going to get anything done in here since you guys are all talking about it, go forth and protest back".

i can't say i know a whole lot about politics in general, much less keep a really keen eye on current events, but i do know that if i'm going to have an opinion, i'm going to damn well back it up.

i'm babbling.
