In this world, there is much that we concieve as truth, be it absolute, be it a lie, so long as we feel it sidles nicely with the title, it must be.
This is as faulty as running around telling a thousand lies, even more dangerous when you have heretics building entire belief systems around what are misguided truths.
Then again, truth, such as all things, is subject to perception. What may hold true for one person may be the bizarro world for another.
With perception, we see numerous other subjects cropping up. We believe we, ourselves, exist, that it is truth alone. But, really, the only reason we exist, the only reason we are whom we are is because other people percieve us this way. If people like and enjoy our presence, then we take on the form of a kind, generous person. If others loathe and despise you, or you feel they do, then you are bound to take on a disfigured, twisted form. No matter how you disguise this on the outside, you are still going to see the abomination or the angel in the mirrow.
Though, we have to wonder if we would be whom we are if we had not percieved this world as we had, if nobody had bore witness to our existance and placed their meaningless titles on our head. It should be noted that perception is the one driving failing and success of man-kind, that it is the combined perceptions and beliefs of this world that has built it like it has.
Religion has mutated and grown due to perception, Science has done likewise. People have shifted and evolved, not because of any driving genetics, but because of how we percieve ourselves, and how we attempt to change that form to suit the pre-labelled perceptions of others.
(This rant is thanks to one of my characters, Keno Black. You know I talk with myself, with my inner mind...and each character stands in for a different part of my mind)
Now, on the other side of my mind, it feels like I am alienating those around me, those people who care and love me. Why? Because of my drive for solitude lately. Well, bravo Stephen...you'll get to sit alone, playing your games, starving to death on minimum wage because you wanted to be by yourself. Your family will leave you, your friends will depart, and you'll never see another who even wants to be your significant other.
Go ahead, sit before the monitor of this confounded machine, and pretend you have more of a life than you truly do, that you aren't so obese that you keep ripping clothes doing normal events...
