Queer women of colour ,that is what I am, caught up in between all cultures, subcultures, gender norms, lines, sublines.

I will not subdue to what people tell me what I am going to be. I will not settle for being the 'other' without some form of compromise on my worth

We will not let ourselves down. From the very beginning we fashion our awareness with our bare hands and the generous few who gave us the seed of hope.

We did not begin our lives with a silver spoon between our fingers, we did not choose to live like this, we are not uber privileged hippies who for some reason decided to be a union intern campaigning for lower end jobs when I could count the number of cleaners they personally know with the decapitated fingers from my right hand.

We have been oppressed, we are angry. We will return the favour.
