Why do all these medicine commercials show such happy people? I know if I had herpes or chronic constipation I wouldn't be riding a bike or eating breakfast with my wife and kids. I'd be crying in my bedroom or straining on the shitter. I'm ashamed that, these days, random prescription "fix-alls" are advertised every 15 seconds, and every housewife in the country thinks a pill can solve all their problems. What does this say about our culture? I look to the future and I tremble (in the bad way). I'm just satisfied that I have enough of a sense of humor that I can laugh about it all while still dispairing.
