There was a very interesting event at uni today. I went to the library at noon to meet up with Aliaa, and apparently they were having a Khazanah Warisan & Aktiviti Melukis event sort of thing. There was also a band, kinda like an old-style jazz band from a (Malay-style) 70's nightclub. It reminded me of the old men from the Studio Ghibli movie, Whispers of the Heart. It was amazing. There was an old battered cello taller than the man who played it (and he was standing), a groovy old man with round, gold-rimmed glasses playing both the saxophone and the violin...then there was the guitar, and the ukelele. I sat there staring at them for a full 10 minutes, completely entranced, until Aliaa noticed I was sitting next to her the entire time and suggested I sketch them. Hahahahaha! Admittedly, my hands were itching for pencil and paper and luckily enough, there's that Aktiviti Melukis going on! So yeah, I sketched the old man on his saxophone...But I had to give the paper back to the organiser because they were collecting all the drawings to tape to the wall or something. It was a very interesting experience though, to sketch people in action while I'm in a public area. I get extremely self-conscious when I draw, because, other than the obvious fact (in case you didn't get it, it's the simple act of drawing! that's like, revealing to people what's going on inside your head kind of a thing) well, I like to listen to music when I do, and sometimes the beats gets to me and I just break out into random crazy movements that are my version of a dance. I did tap my foot and jiggle my butt into my seat while the band played on and I drew, but at least I didn't do anything more extreme. Ahahahaha.

So yeah, then Aliaa and I went out for lunch and watched Battleship, and here I am, home and writing this. This was my Wednesday. I quite liked it.
