Donghae's in China, now. And he hasn't felt this lonely since the very first time he left the country without Hyukjae, which was almost two years ago.

He wants to call him and talk about it, because he really needs to get things straight.

He shares a room with Kyuhyun, who- believe it or not -is really good about these kinds of things, Donghae figures he can help.

It's around midnight when Donghae and Kyuhyun are preparing for bed, and the lights haven't even been off for five minutes when he opens his mouth to ask.

"I have a problem with Hyukjae, what do I do?" he asks, seemingly into thin air.

There's a long silence, and Donghae is about to repeat himself when the reading lamp on Kyuhyun's bedside table abruptly flickers on; revealing a slightly irritated, but nonetheless concerned maknae.

"What happened?"

"We fucked. And I was drunk."

Kyuhyun's eyes nearly popped out of it's sockets. "You fucked?"

Donghae fidgeted, "Well, actually, 'made love' is kind of a better description.

Kyuhyun slapped his forehead lightly and chuckled, "No way. How the hell did it happen?"

"... actually, I only remember some of it, because I was shit-faced when it happened."

"Did you start it?"

"I think so."

"Did you top?"

"... yes, I did."

"Was it good?"

"Fuck yeah."

Kyuhyun laughed again and scoffed, "So what's the big deal? Shouldn't it be a good thing? How is this a problem?"

"I didn't remember any of it the next day. I only remembered at the gate. Hyukjae was really offended by it."

Kyuhyun frowned, "You bastard. Tell him!"

Donghae wavered, "I can't."

"What do you mean you can't? Do I have to give you another sarcastic conversation example?"

Donghae was about to protest, but Kyuhyun had already began, "'Hyukjae, I love you and you weren't just a senseless fuck like you think. What do you think about dating me so we can do it everyday?'"

Like deja-vu, Donghae launched another pillow to the other end of the room and right at Kyuhyun's face, who fell back onto his own pillow.

"Shut up. You're useless."

Sungmin and Jungsu were the only other one's who knew Hyukjae loved Donghae, and that Donghae loved him back. Only they knew that he was his everything, that Donghae was the center of his world, and that he was the center of Donghae's. They just never told either of them, it was best to let them sort it out of their own.

Hyukjae had come home from the airport the next day and ran straight to the second dorm and into Sungmin's room, which, to his disappointment, was empty. He had decided to wait, since he had no gain to walk about or even go into the living room and watch TV. He just sat there, on the large pink bed, and waited.

It was around 3:00 in the afternoon when Sungmin had come home.

He opened the door and jumped when he found Hyukjae sitting midlessly atop his bed Indian-style, one leg bouncing up and down against the mattress passively.

"H-Hyukjae?" he called, "Where were you?"

The younger one looked up at him with a weak smile, "I had to stay overnight at the hostel with Donghae."

Sungmin raised an eyebrow, "Why?"

"Because he wanted to go around the airport, and by the time we came back, it was already too late to check in. They gave him a complementary hostel room to stay for the night, he just left around 11:30 or so."

Sungmin nodded, "O-okay... then why are you here?"

Hyukjae paused, and began tearing up a little. Sungmin remained motionless until his petty whimpers filled the room and he buried his face into his hands, sobbing quietly.

The other rushed over to comfort him, "Hyukjae? Hyukjae, I'm sorry, did I say something that offended you? I'm sorry."

Hyukjae looked up into Sungmin's eyes, "Donghae... doesn't remember..." he muttered through broken sobs, Sungmin gave a quizzical look.

"What are you talking about? What does he not remember?" he asked, all the while rubbing Hyukjae's back.

"L-last night..."

"What about last night?"

"He and I... he and I--"

Sungmin stopped rubbing circles on his back and just stared at him. "No..." he mumbled, "don't tell me you two..."

Hyukjae just looked at him and nodded.

"Hyukjae, I--"

"He didn't remember anything the next day. Everything he said was a lie. It was like it never happened to him."

Sungmin couldn't do anything but hold the weeping boy in his arms and try to shush him down. "Now Hyukjae, you don't know that for sure."

"... but he doesn't remember.... it never happened..." he chokes weakly through his sobs.

"It's past midnight in Seoul, do you really think he's gonna answer?" Donghae asks, staring at the cellphone in his hand. Kyuhyun had moved next to him and was practically sitting on his lap, hovering over the phone.

"Just dial his number and talk to him, Hyung, it isn't as hard as you think."

He nodded and swiftly dialed his number, holding the phone up to his ear. Someone picked up, and he heard a loud yawn, "Yeobosaeyo?"

"Hyukjae? Is that you?"

"Yes, may I know who is speaking?"

"It-It's Donghae."

"... um, what do you need?"

"About last night..." Donghae began, taking a deep breath. He could practically see Hyukjae freeze up on the other end of the line.

"What about last night?" there was a long, lazy yawn, "Did you forget something in the hostel, or something?"

"No... I just wanted to tell you that," he hesitated, "that..."

"That what?"

"That I remember what happened last night, and I'm sorry about this morning."

There was a long silence on the other end and he was worried that the other had hung up.

"Oh, um... that.... Don't worry about it, it didn't mean anything, we were just drunk."

Donghae winced; ouch. "O-okay, yeah. I just wanted to get that straight. If I said anything weird last night I-- I probably didn't mean it so... yeah."

"... okay. Do you need anything else?"

Hae was on the virge of tears, "N-no... no, it's okay."

"Alright then, goodnight."

"Goodnight," he mumbled as the dial tone resounded through the speaker of the phone. He dropped it sadly and looked at Kyuhyun, "He said... he said it didn't mean anything."

Kyuhyun frowned, "It's okay, Hyung, don't worry about it. There are plenty of fish in the sea and, well, you are King of the Sea, right?" he said.

Donghae grabbed the back of the maknae's neck and strangled him into a painful hug, sobbing into his neck. "Nonsense," he whispered:

"I only like anchovies."

**

Hyukjae hangs up the phone and tries to go back to sleep, he tosses and turns irritably in his bed and finds himself giving up on sleeping altogether. All it reminds him of is the night before when he made love to Donghae and it's killing him.

He remembers everything down to the last moan that escaped his thin lips.

Donghae probably only remembers small bits and pieces of it and Hyukjae kind of hates it because it's not fair at all.

It doesn't matter anymore, though. Because according to Donghae, it means nothing.

Nothing, absolutely nothing.

And that fucking sucks.
