Hey Ash!! Well, my absolute favorites are Sony Cybershots. They make them in all sorts of price ranges and megapixels. They are extremely user friendly, and I figured mine out in about ten minutes, without the manual even. :) Mine is an 8.1 megapixel, but I hardly ever take pics at that setting. Generally I use 5.0, which is certainly big enough. So depending on how much you want to spend, I'd say go for something between 4.0 - 6.0 (around there) megapixels and you'll be good to go. I've had many digital cameras and none that I love so much as the Cybershots. They take great pictures and also, really good video. :)
Canon are a pretty safe bet for digital cameras, particularly the Powershot range. I have an A430 which is in the budget range and is just fine for what I need it for, plus it's quite small. While I was shopping around for it, I found the following sites to be really useful in terms of reviews that really go into detail, some with sample pictures from the camera themselves.
Thanks for the links, Jade. :) Of all the people I've asked, Canon keeps coming up and I haven't heard anything bad so far. I'm just so technically retarded. :p I just want a camera that takes good pics.
Depends what you want? Point and shoot? Or the ability to get a bit fancier if needed? A good video function? A big lcd? The last link Jade provided is very good.
I just want something really simple to use. A point and shoot would suit me just fine. I don't expect to go all out with it, just something that take good pictures and isn't a hassle.
