Music theory has thus compelled me to come up with something to wear for Halloween. I don’t feel like going with the group Rocky Horror thing…but I want to do something recognizable. I’m really leaning towards dressing as Scarlett O’hara from Gone With the Wind because dear goodness I’m a complete slut for beautiful dresses. The downside is I’d have to make said dress.
Strange, but things that used to really bother to the point that I wanted to go home, sob my eyes out, and then plunge myself into a deep depression hardly make me flinch anymore. I’m not sure if that’s a good thing or not, considering…it feels rather odd, actually. Apathy?
I forget sometimes how much I love orchestra. It’s easy to get caught up in being good and getting first and all that shit, but you know, chamber’s kind of changed that. Being in such a self-sufficient group that it really makes you proud to be a member. Besides, if I said I didn’t enjoy it because it gives me something that I don’t have to share with the rest of my friends it’d be a lie.
Side note: all good musicals have threesomes. All of them that I’ve seen at any rate. Les Miserables has Marius/Cosette/Eponine, Phantom of the Opera has Christine/Erik/Raoul, Cabaret has Sally/Brian/Max, Chicago has…okay, so maybe not all, but threesomes seem to be good plot devices.
I’m going to take note of that. Threesome = good plot device.
