You mean if we come visit you, we can see a naked picture of you?
I'm not sure what kind of photo I'd like on my bookflap. I mean, my fiction is rather smart-aleck-y. Having a photo that underlined that with a smirk or a raised eyebrow would make me seem like an asshole. I think I'd actually do best with a photo where I look slightly concerned. Not put-on concern. A hint of the real thing. Otherwise, nobody will like my story.
My friend Maureen Johnson has a hot bookflap photo on her books. But I'm not hot. I'm furry and sort of cute. So it wouldn't suit me to try to look like Johnathan (sp) Frazer (sp), which is, ya know, hot.
BWAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! I mean, I'm laughin cause I read an interview with Jonathan Franzen once several years ago and he sounded like a poop and I remember thinking, "I hope I forget that guy's name, dammit..." And then miraculously, I did! I am so god at forgetting things on purpose. I've done it several times. Maybe that's psychologically dangerous though... Hmmm...
And gee, thanks, leave me outta the club. Just see if I fly cross the country to visit you now. Sheesh...
And I'm no way in hell cuter than Franzen. He's a manly man, with manly stubble, and manly...actually, I just a second ago clicked on the link you posted to his picture and he looks kind of silly. The only other photo I've ever seen of him is the Corrections bookflap one, where he looks svelte and manly. I'm still not better looking than him--if I am, then it's in a woodland critter kinda way. But thank you for the compliment anyway.

But now I feel kinda bad! Franzen looks dorky in other photos! What does this mean? It's possible that if I'd been exposed to the photo of "nebbishy Franzen" (i love that, by the way...) when I read that interview, I'd think he was being ironic in many of the things he said--the end result could have been me thinking he's way cool! Oh dear, oh dear... I've gone and judged by appearance. I'm a jerk!
I may be 5000x cuter than Jonathan Franzen (which i find very debatable given the new Franzen evidence...), but I'm a poop for judging him through a most shallow frame of reference.
