Fondant gone awry

I made a cake for my sister's birthday and Thanksgiving, and I had a lot of extra fondant left over.

So...

I made fondant!centurion ducky!!!






Fondant is an icing-like substance I prefer to make from melted marshmallows and powdered sugar that can be molded to fit over a whole cake or shaped into figures, or whatever. I've been making cakes the past few years, but now I'm hooked on fondant. It's really sweet, but it makes cakes look awesome, and it can be peeled off if you don't like the taste or texture.

Here's what the cake looked like:



I spent two whole days on this thing, and I couldn't be happier with how it turned out. It's of a dribble sandcastle (we used to make these at the beach as kids). There's more pictures in the gallery if you want to see more.

He's so brave, he didn't even blink.
