Okay, so my coworker and I thought we were doing pretty good tonight; we managed to close the store at a good time, thinking we would beat the 'transporter parade.' But no. I didn't at least ...
The Transporter Parade is an honor which only Bristol gets to hold for NASCAR. *_* Basically all it really is, is the transporter semis driving through the city down to the racetrack. Yes, it looks cool after dark. Yes, there are fireworks. No, it's not fun trying to maneuver your way home through it.
At about 4pm activity booths and whatnot are set up both in the mall's parking lot and on State Street (aka Family Race Night). Then at 9:15pm the parade starts; however, this year they decided to start at 9pm! This is where the problem came in. I cleverly thought that I would turn into Kroger's parking lot, and then head the back way home. Sadly, since they had started ... I couldn't get into the parking lot, because the entrance is right at the traffic light where the semis were lining up. -_-
So, I had to go WAY out of my way, completely around the mall and behind KMart -- trust me this was quite out of my way -- before I finally managed to get onto the streets near my house. Fun night.
Last night, my brother and I were doing some research to help me choose the right laptop, and there was an article on C-Net about Microsoft's new YouTube rival. Anyway, we went to the sight and this happened: (now keep in mind that this is a certified Microsoft website)
