Lately Laika has been scratching one spot one her stomach. She has a bald spot there and it has been getting bigger. There are no fleas there so we don't know why she has it. Should we take her to the vet?
Well our girl Loki has been doing the same thing as well. It's very hard to find the fleas on her but she's got em. In the interim, since you're not seeing any fleas, what you can try is giving Laika a bit of benadryl and that should ease any inflamation that she might have and thus ease the scratching the pulling of fur from her belly. That's what our vet recomended to us when our little one was going through a similar situation. When you check for fleas check in Laika's armpits and up around the neck because on both our huskies thats where they tend to congregate at.
Dry skin will acuse a dog to scratch one spot all the time. It could also be a bacterial infection that's causing irritation. I would recommend taking her to a veterinarian. Even if it's dry skin, they'll be able to recommend something you can put on it.
Well we took Laika to the vet. She said that it could be an allergic reaction or she has mange. She got 3 different medicines that you give three times a day.
