interesting weekend. good weekend. i went racing again yesterday at the new Grand Sport Speedway that just opened up at the old blimp base. finally another proper road course in houston! and wow the track is so much fun... the shifters were hitting about 90 on the front straight before entering the first kink going into turn 1. quite a few good braking zones and high speed turns. a little of everything... my day wasn't exactly the smoothest aka 5 flat tires! every single session i'd get about 2-3 laps in and i'd get a flat. the first one happened going into the back chicane at about 60 and shot me straight off the track... the others were more gradual and not quite so dramatic... still a pain in the ass. the only session i went through with full pressure in all of my tires was the final.
i just love racing. i went out to the pit wall to watch the shifters race. what a beautiful sight that is. watching them come hauling ass down into turn 1 actually gave me chills. there's nothing like it. i think it's the fact that it's something that i am pretty good at, yet it still ALWAYS offers some different kind of challenge. and it's more than just taking corners quickly. it's such a dynamic atmosphere in every way that it's really the ultimate challenge and that's what makes it the best sport in the world. and all i want to do consequently.
