finally getting around to updating this thing... anyway, as many of you know i went to California 2 weekends ago with Lee for the ALMS race and end of the season awards ceremony. one of the best weekends i've ever had! first of all it's just an unbelievable track and monterey is absolutely gorgeous. i hung out at the track all day friday and saturday, got to be a flag girl on the grid before the race and hang out in the pits during the race. Lee's car finished 2nd which was awesome!!! i could seriously spend every weekend at the track and be incredibly happy. all of the tafel racing guys are so incredibly nice and i just really had a good time hanging out with them, even if it was just sitting around watching them work in the paddock.

the banquet was really fun... open bar! woot! and i ran into mark schomann, who i met back at chris's bbq for the houston race... he's an engineer for risi and paul newmann just to name a few... anyway, he remembered me and i ended up talking about my karting with him and hanging out all night. we left the banquet to hit up the mucky duck and i went to the bar, came back and mark was talking to mika salo about me. sat down and mika asks me how my rib is doing these days. holy crap. it's mika salo and i got to speak to him and get racing advice for at least half an hour.

also, checked out the skip barber display while i was over at the track and they were offering 500 off their 3 day racing school if i signed up that weekend... somehow my awesome dad said i could do it. holy crap. i'll be there dec 27-29 driving around laguna seca. sweet ass!!!!!!!!!!!!!! and just this week i applied for the skip barber karting scholarship shoot-out. it's 4 days of assessment. 50 karters and 23 of them get scholarships towards one of the skip barber racing series. so i was notified today that i was eligible, so i reserved my seat and i'll be driving around sebring jan 31-feb 3. i'm so psyched. i'm just so excited "i can hardly contain myself" ;) and quite nervous... either way i'll get a scholarship or i've got more good experience to put on my resume and i should still be qualified to try it again next year. i'm gonna go racing damnit!

now to find some money....

and hopefully this week lee will get some good news from risi! that would just make this an awesome week!

....back to studio...
