post singularity post-meatspace thoughts

Just some worldbuilding mental exercise, ya?

Was thinking about the logistics of a civilization that had abandoned meatspace, but you can't do that entirely, can you? Cause that's where your servers live. Automated maintenance and some AIs can go a long way, but you'd about have to have some specialists around who are experts in using realspace robot bodies (probably manufactured on demand) to handle things the autos can't cope with. This could be an interesting story subject, especially if the separation between real and manufactured space isn't so clear to the characters or the readers.

What would happen with reproduction? Assuming that people can be uploaded into the network and leave their meat bodies behind, where do you go from there? Would simulated genetics be able to create life, or would this be impossible and give you a dead civilization that is just lingering? Perhaps reincarnation services would become popular, where you get all your memories deleted before being assigned to new parents. What is left after removing the memories from a digitized life form, though?
