The being-ill-month

Me and Tore had a wonderful Easter shuttling back and forth between Trondheim and Landsbyen (the historical village that the larpers in Trondheim are building). I worked some days, but had several days free between each workday and since the weather was lovely we returned to Landsbyen as soon as I closed things down at work. Much skiing and nice food, snacks, and the house is lovely in it self but it is a bit draughty, with about -25 degrees Celsius at night it was a bit unpleasant but good sleeping bags made it all okay)

Last day of our nice visit to the village my back decided that it wanted to hurt, and at the same time I started to get ill, had a nasty fever and bleh. My back got happier after sleeping on a better bed, but I got worse and worse with more fever and started coughing(funny to sit and shake with cold when your bf walks around sweating in a t-shirt). And then I coughed the next two weeks. Then I coughed a little bit less the next week, good enough to go at one band practice(and get a coughing attack after each time I played...) and be (more or less present) at a course at work.

Then I went home for grandma's birthday, but the grand party was cancelled because of a granduncle dying, but we made a nice family evening out of the whole thing. My grandma is going strong, she looks better than she has done in years *happy* I also suspect I got more money as payment for driving her around and wash a little bit than the cost for all the presents she got both from my family and my aunts family. My parents also shamelessly spoiled me, I got new shoes, two pairs of jeans, nice food, more nice food, cake, more cake, attention, more food and cake. We went on a nice blues concert the first evening, I've never been on a concert with mum and dad, it felt a bit funny, they are quite different at some points and in that setting it was more visible than anywhere else I've seen them.

I came home full of energy that quickly died after more days on the work-school bench. It is amazing how many stupid people who work with security... Then I got back at work and had generally fun, got more hours at work because one of the guys was moved over to another workplace, and got even more hours because my boss is incompetent. Okay for me, more work means more hours. I got some exam reading done at work, the evenings are quite calm, but I seriously start to feel that the exams are closing in and as usual I haven't done as much as I would like to.

And now I've become ill again, just a regular cold, but bad enough that I didn't get to work Friday and Saturday, luckily I have free to Wednesday. I think I got it for being to happy over the nice spring weather, it is colder than my head think. Things are starting to get green, there are tiny leaves on most of the trees and the sky has been clear blue for several days. Temperature is a shocking 10-15 degrees Celsius, feeling nice and warm after the winter (but had it been autumn I probably would have called it freezing...).

Music is a bit up and down, I haven't practised at home more than once since the national championship because of Easter and being ill. But all the same I've survived two concerts and still felt good about my performance. But then, none of the music was so difficult that it needed any homework. And I got a reminder as to why I don't like playing in symphony orchestras, the horn voices are utterly boring, after beats or long tones all the way, then a short but difficult/beautiful/cool passage before you continue with the after beats. I was called in when a horn player suddenly couldn't come to the concert so I only got to attend the last rehearsal and already then I was mindlessly bored. Got plenty of time to listen to the singers and stuff.

The rest of the music season is naught to me since I go to Line and Frank in England at the same time as my band plays their last concert, it is only all the marching on the national day and that don't count as playing or "music". It is maybe just as well, with the earlier mentioned exams lurking in the future. Tore is in Spain visiting his parents so I'm alone this week, is probably healthy for the preparing-for-exams thing. His firm is starting to get going, the larpers are waking up from the long winter sleep and are ordering stuff, and a shop in the city has taken in several of his things (mostly water flasks and such), and his internet pages are finally getting ready. Quite fun to see how all things suddenly start rolling.

Me and Tore are moving together now. Some days ago we signed the rental contract for our new flat, we have it from 1st June. It is a lovely little flat with two bedrooms (Tore will have his workplace in one of them), a big bathroom and with nice light colours everywhere. Right by the nature to, I have missed that where I live now, to just walk out the door and stand in the forest. The owners seems to be very friendly and nice, we got a nice tone between us already when we was there looking at the place, they more or less gave us the flat on the spot even though there was several others there to look at it. It is a bit out from the city core and school (Stavset for those of you who know where that is), but the rent was so cheap (and included electricity) so even with a monthly bus card and extra use of the car it will be cheaper than most other places we have seen.

Maybe I should update here a bit more often, I feel all my posts become so incredibly long. Well, well, hopefully I get soon well of this cold and end this being ill period. I haven't felt completely well since the beginning of Easter *crosses fingers* And now all the nice weather is coming.
