(COPY & PASTED FROM MY XANGA) So today was one of the best days of my life!! I had a wonderful day & I spent it with a woderful muscian!
This is a very long entry, but it's an exciting one. So if you want to hear me brag about my adventure today, read on!!!!!!!
Well, most of you know I am a huge fan of Billy Corgan (formally of the Smashing Pumpkins). Well, today I recieved a really exciting e-mail that said I won a contest through MySpace.com. The idea was to pick a number between 1 and 100 & e-mail it to Billy Corgan's people. Well, I did that & I guessed the number 78. I don't know why I guessed that number. It was completly random that I guessed that number. Well, the number was 88. Only 5 people guessed 88. So the rest of the people that won picked a number near 88. Soooo, I WON! They said I was close enough!!
I got to take a friend. So I took Brian. Well, we left to go to the secret location, but on our way we got stopped by a train! We wer already running late & thought we weren't going to make it there by 3pm. But we did & when we got there they gave us VIP passes & had us sign a waiver to be video taped. There was a huge, double decker bus waiting for us! They made us wait about 45 minutes just standing around. This sucked because I drank a lot of water & needed a bathroom, but we were in the middle of a park!
Finally we left. We sat on the top of this bus. They drove us around Chicago a bit. We had to duck everytime we came past low trees & when we went under low bridges. Finally, we came to this super secret location! Which ended up being The Riveria (a concert venue)! They took us down the alley & let us in a back door! Then..... Billy Corgan came out on stage with his band! Since there were only 80 people or less even. We were right up by the stage!!! Billy played 4 new songs from his new CD coming out! This was actually just a rehersal for his up & coming tour!!! It was so awesome with all the lights!!
So after that, they put us all back on the bus! Only this time, Billy & his band came on the bus with us!!! Billy was only two seats & across the way from us!! While on the bus some girl gave Billy a gift of a camera. Brian got to hand that camera to Billy personally!
Then the bus took us to this little hot dog joint called Byron's Hot Dogs & we all got free food & pop. Walking into the resturant Billy was holding the door for everyone. Well, I felt the need to say something, so I said, "Thank you for holding the door." I felt like such a dork, but he said you're welcome. In the resturant, Billy came to every table & talked to everyone. Here's our little convoersation::::: (not directly quoted though, I can't remember exactly what was said) :::: me: "I thought I would never get to see you play! When you were in the Smashing Pumpkins I wasn't allowed to go to concerts. Then when you were in Zwan & even now, the tickets sold out so fast! So I am glad I got to see you play." Billy: "If I knew that I would've played loger. I was so nervous out there." Me: "I think we were all nervous." While at the resturant we met a lot of other nice Billy Corgan fans. Since I didn't bring my camera, we asked our new friends Charlie & Lindsy if they would take my picture with Billy & e-mail it to me. They said they would & we exchanged e-mails. I will have that pic up as soon as I get it.
Then all the winners got back on the bus. Billy, his crew, & the camera crew walked off down the street & the bus took us back to our car. Then we came home. It was a very enjoyable day! I am still giddy & hyper about meeting Billy Corgan!!!!
