Sacrilege (short Dean/Sam Gen)

Jun 21, 2016 09:45

I was looking at bbc news this morning, which I do every morning on the way to work, and there's an article about Led Zep and how allegedly Stairway to Heaven was based on another song. It's interesting stuff, and I was just imagining how Dean would react to such a thing.

Crack ensued in my brain. This is not meant to be now in their timelines, I don't even what now is for them! It's just there, somewhere.

"Wake up, bitch."

Sam is awoken by the double spread of a newspaper being swat over his face and he groans and opens his eyes as he reaches up to move it away.

"What the -"

"Read it, Sammy."

Dean's voice is a mixture of anguish and pain so Sam squints to read the headline.

"Dog Meat Festival starts in-"

"Not that. Although," Dean speaks as he snatches back the paper and points specifically to a paragraph he's been reading, "that is pretty damn sick. Look, Sammy."

Sam still can't read the article lieu of Dean's hans being all over it.

"They are tryin' to say that The Zep ripped off another song with Stairway."

Sam raises an eyebrow. "You think it's a case?"

Dean looks personally insulted and he clasps a hand over his chest in horror.

"Shut up, of course it's not a case. What it is, Sam," he says as he sits on the edge of the bed, paper being crumpled as he keeps a death grip on the corners, "is sacrilege."

"Uh huh." Sam yawns, "sacrilege."

He sees the paper being rolled up but doesn't expect the thwack to his forehead until it hits, and - "ow!"

''You deserve it. Get me your laptop, I've gotta listen to this other song."
