Parking Fine

Sep 24, 2009 14:06

So, I got a parking ticket recently and now the private ticketing company want £65 to make them go away. I have drafted the following appeal email to the address supplied.

Dear Sir or Madam

I am writing to disupute a parking charge made this afternoon. I parked at Central Retail Park in Bolton (Location Code L000863) at 13:10 in order to browse home furnishings at Rivington Taylor and buy a pet toy from Pets At Home for the Trainee Guide Dogs which we voluntarily board for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association. We are regular customers at this store, buying treats and toys for the dogs we board as well as bird products in the past for our own pets. When I returned to my vehicle at 13:30 I found the charging notice attached. I have a purchase receipt from Pets at Home timed at 13:26 which I can supply a copy of.

The only explanation I can think of is that I parked away from other customers near a disused store on the park due to a previous incident at this location in which my car was damaged, obviously by careless door slamming.

Please suspend this charge.

Kind Regards

etc

Its all true except I did leave the site for 10 minutes to buy some baccy from the baccy shop slightky up the road, which I suspect is why they ticketed me, and I don't think they can prove that unless the ticketing guy spotted me. Even so, will they bother?

Should I send it or just pay the £65?
