hey guys, wat up
i really was going to stick to my ~*~about~*~ once a week thing, but then the earthquake/tsunami/nuclear power plants all happened and i suddenly felt dumb for taking up internet space with my unrelated photos & rambling
not that those problems are all 100% fixed now but things seem to be looking up (thankfully). that said, i know this is utterly selfish, but all my friends and their families (that i know of) are all safe. but let's keep supporting & donating whenever possible, ok?

so far classes are good; the two online are sort-of boring but only because i am not being lectured at in person
i could never do an online-degree or anything, i know that now! and korean class is going at the speed of light
i'm not stressed...yet.

it seems keunseok has been inspired to become interested in photography (or re-inspired? i guess he used to be into photography a bit in the beginning of the 2000s). he bought a used Canon EOS 5 film camera as well as an extra lens and then bought me this cute little lenses that comes from a cctv camera
it looks so funny put on my camera because of the size, and there is no zoom but it makes an awesome effect!
i am taking a lot more photos than i was before. i even keep trying to take video that i could upload onto youtube, but so far i haven't had the drive to follow through with any editing or anything
we'll see~ maybe when the weather is really nice...

speaking of the weather! it's most definitely started to become SPRING!
i'm so happy; there are some days when it can be cold, but usually it isn't too bad. the only down point of spring here in the rok is that yellow dust has arrived
so far it isn't awful, but i remember when i visited last spring one of the days with a high warning for the dust was so strange; it looked foggy but a little yellow and no one wanted to stay outside at all! oh, that and it's dangerous to be outside in the dust for too long

ok yeah so this is that new little cctv 25mm f1.4 lens~

this is the subway station at ewha, i was meeting keunseok after he got off work.

we went and had mexican food; it wasn't bad
i got a quesadilla but it was tiny and keunseok's burrito looked way better

walking around after dinner so i could take random pictures

there is so much (cheap) shopping around ewha
it's a good and bad thing in multiple aspects. good for sudden shopping urges, getting cheap basics and bargan hunting. bad for your wallet and finding good-quality items

me on the walk home

at a cafe; i was doing homework and he was reading the manual for his camera (and looking handsome
teehee)

after my homework was done, we went to cheonggyecheon, a small river in the middle of seoul.
then we walked to myeongdong; i made him go out with me that day especially because it was one of the nicest days so far

snack at myeongdong. not acutally that good at all
i got pumpkin and he got japjae, but once i ate it i wished i had gotten those sweet potatoes instead
bleeeeh~

then we went up to namsan tower! acutally i hadn't been there yet (
). i am a bad tourist! and the weekend we went was the weekend right before white day so there were couples everywhere
aw~
but we did not put a lock on the tower; is it just me, or does it seem like doing something like that would jinx your relationship?
i don't like doing stuff like that! there is a korean superstition that if you give your significant other shoes, they will 'run' away from you/you'll break up. but i most definitely don't believe in that one
 keuneok, more shoes plz!!!

next day just walking to get groceries

the bottom left is a dukkbokki restaurant called 'mom's dukkobokki'. i think it has to be a chain because that man in the suit walking in the picture? that is the 'mom' that is always running the store

and that bunny 'matches' me! (blue eyes haha) i see him outside whenever the weather is nice
his 'eyeliner' makes him look grumpy but he is really cute.

some of the pictures keuneok took with his film camera; i really liked them!
it surprised me because i thought i'd turn out looking awful in film

tokboxing with some of the guys i met when i first joined tumblr

ah it was nostalgic~ we used to tokbox a lot together.

this past friday we were supposed to go on a double day with jin & josh but...
both of our boyfriends were in crappy moods and didn't want to go out even though we had planned this for like a week. we were going to go to a wii bang after dinner and play video games against each other. of course both jin & i were super bumed/annoyed at our guys for being such party poopers...le sigh~ but that is what we get for dating guys who have jobs
they are tired come friday night.
anyway, i still met keunseok and we at dinner then went to starbucks for a bit; i was playing pokemon white
yay~!

following saturday we went to get keunseok's camera repaired (the shutter speed or aperture wouldn't show in the view finder!). the repair place was near gwangjang market, which is yet another place i hadn't been
i'm SO GLAD we went! this is the underground shopping center, which was filled with hanbok and 'fashionable' clothes for older people

here is the market~ food, really random import things and random every-day useful items

the best part for me was the bindae ddeok
they are mung bean pancakes and were so good & cheap
there was a lot of other food too, mostly meat, but i know i am going to go back there and try to eat everything that i possibly can~~

it was around 12ish when we were first there, so it was pretty empty and easy to take pictures
when we went back around 6ish it was MUCH more crowded as everyone was enjoying dinner in the open market

more things you can buy~

the repair of keunseok's camera was going to take all day, so instead of going back home in between, we went to the market and stumbled across jongmyo. it is one of the oldest (or the oldest?) confucian memorial shrine where the tablets of kings & queens from the joseon dynasty dating back to the 1300s were kept

i don't often go to shrines or palaces around korea because they do all look really similar and keunseok has very little interest in really seeing them
he says they are 'depressing' because so much of it is just restored or rebuilt that nothing is really the original building. i partially agree with him, but at the same time i feel like even if it just the ghost of what it once really was, it is important to keep these things around and appreciate them

oh, and as we were leaving i found that really fat & fluffy pidgeon that was so cute looking
we weren't even sure it was a real pigeon because it was so fluffy looking~ hehe

ah and now i've finished this but i'm sleepy. maybe because i know i have to now go do online class homework...

yay school, homework, tumblr, keun, camera stuff, spring is coming!, study abroad, corea
