wow.
you know where i've been online all week? and last week and...ur.
basically, this online paper-doll site,
poupee girl.
so hardcore, right? though if you wanna join, lemme send you an invite, we'll get ribbons (the currency) for it
but when i wasn't on that site, i was basically studying for my chinese tests.
we had an accumulative vocab test of all year one. then a regular section test the next day.
i don't think i did well. it was a sort of whiplash from being tired & feeling a bit ill from taking in so much caffeine. because i would stare at a word and know that i knew it, that i had studied it hardcore. and i could almost picture the character for it, but...cry
this article was...idk. idek if it made me feel encouraged to keep going or just want to curl up and go to sleep. my personal fave quote:
"In fact, one of the most gratifying experiences a foreign student of Chinese can have is to see a native speaker come up a complete blank when called upon to write the characters for some relatively common word. You feel an enormous sense of vindication and relief to see a native speaker experience the exact same difficulty you experience every day."
hide memorial summit!
total angst that i won't be able to go. duh.
do you see that line up? yeah. yeah.
i wonder if there will be any cover songs of hide's stuff?
but i figured, at the very least, i could see if i could get something from it. so i harassed asked all the japanese kids around me to see if anyone they know would be going to it.
...and emi came through!!
i guess she asked her sister and her sister's friend is going. so i'll get something & probs pick it up when i go visit.
for memorial day weekend, naoya & i might be going to vancouver.
neither of us has been, & we'll stay at a hostel w. free parking (YAY), i hope the weather's good.
plz to be giving me good weather for my birthday present world, kk?
though, i'm excited. even if i'll be spending money! it's way easy to have a good time when your traveling partner likes doing the same exact things you do.
i learn many random things from gene, naoya's roommate and laziest genius ever.
for example, today alone gene has enlightened me with the words 'boobgasm' and 'choreplay'.
thanks, gene.
