Main Stage
Panarama of the Main Stage
Saturday (Bands I Saw)
- Vince Mira: Vince Mira was amazing! He sounded exactly like Johnny Cash...it was incredible.
- The Gaslight Anthem: I have no recollection of what they sounded like, so they must not have been that great.
- Doves: Bryan wanted to see them, I think I recognized maybe one of their songs.
- Maria Bamford: Horrible comedian.
- Todd Barry: Very Funny, best part was him messing with the crowd.
- Tim and Eric: So...it was incredible! Casey and his brother performed! We had hotdogs thrown at us, and oatmeal spit at us! Bryan even got to touch Eric! Pretty fucking awesome!
- The Decemberists: They sounded great. During one of their songs, up high on a cliff a couple was having sex. Everyone stood up to see it. A security guard went to go stop them, the girl was on top and when she got up to put her clothes on she almost fell off the cliff.
- Yeah Yeah Yeahs: They were amazing.
- Kings of Leon: We got pretty close to the stage for this. Drunk people are fucking annoying. But they sounded incredible.
Sunday (Bands I saw)
- Mike Watt and the Missingmen: I have no idea how they were, I was too excited for SSSC and to see Tom Morello!
- Street Sweeper Social Club: OMG OMG OMG! This was honestly probably my favorite performance! I was very close to the stage, and Tom was fucking amazing! Their songs are great, and I loved Boots Riley. Seeing them made me less sad that RATM isn't around. Oh and it was cool because on their gear it said RATM with the red star. I felt like that was the closest I'd ever get to Rage.
- The Walkmen: I was still too excited about SSSC so I don't remember.
- The Red Wine Boys: HORRIBLE!!!!!
- The Murder City Devils: OMG! They were amazing!! The singer totally told off the crowd and made fun of the annoying drunk jocks. It was incredible!
- TV on the Radio: They were great!
- Nine Inch Nails: What was awesome was that they totally played songs I never expected to hear live. Gave Up, The Fragile, Metal, Wish (again!). It was really awesome. I think my dad understands now why I'm obsessed. My dad was really sweet and bought my a NIN/JA concert shirt! That was so nice of him, considering I didn't have the money to do that myself.
- Jane's Addiction: They were really amazing. It made sense that they were the headliners. Perry was hilarious. And Dave Navarro is sexy and talented! Go figure!
Monday
- Heartless Bastards: I really, really enjoyed them.
- Mugison: I fell asleep during this band. Ooops!
- Grizzly Bear: Bryan loves them, me not so much. Way too mellow!!
- Santigold: She was entertaining. She danced, talked with the crowds, and I thought her voice was really unique.
- Gogol Bordello: OMG OMG OMG!!! They were fucking incredible!!!! INCREDIBLE!!! They completely converted me into being a fan! Gypsy punk music is AMAZING! The crowd was moving the ENTIRE show!
- Fleet Foxes: A W F U L !!!! I wanted to gouge my eardrums out. Especially after seeing an amazing Gogol Bordello show.
- Silversun Pickups: Alright.
- Erykah Badu: OMG! She was not so great! She started late, then her band played 5 songs or so before she even came out! D I V A!
- Ben Harper and the Relentless 7: They were okay, we were just tired. So we left early because Bryan and I had to go back to Spokane that night.
All in all it was amazing. Especially after a hellish year of law school. It was hot, I got sunburned...we got a few contact highs. But it was fucking worth it!
