This is way overdue. no excuses.
I just heard about the Haiti earthquake today, and we reconnected our modem so I could look up what happened in the news. I REALLY wish I hadn't. I don't like to be ignorant, but seeing tragedy and horror on that level, and being so far from able to help is doing a major squeeze job on my soul. I just sat in front of my monitor and cried.
So Christmas happened a while ago. I scored some sweet tools for my studio (which I haven't entered now in three weeks; it's bloody cold and there's no heat) and some clothes and, huzzah-shout-it-from-the-rooftops, a pasta machine! We made our first batch of angel hair egg noodles last night, and had chicken noodle soup, 100% from scratch. I am so proud.
Zoë got three different sets of Little People Playlands:

I got Husband Modern Warfare 2 for our PS3, and it motivated him to FINALLY hook our system up to the 'net, so we can now play online games with our friends. He's already beat the game, and is addicted to Special Ops. He's playing behind me right now.
I had the in-laws over for supper tonight. I made a pot roast, with diced onions and mushrooms and garlic, then made the best damn gravy I've ever had from the juices. I served it with mashed potatoes, carrots and corn and Dad-In-Law brought a homemade apple pie for dessert. I feel fat and happy.
I have a whole ton of photos and things that I should be posting, and talking about, and stuff. But, to be honest, I'm just not into it right now, so I'll sign off with a quick note to dumpster_glam that I hope you're feeling better, and that if you can, we should go for coffee (or soothing herbal tea) tomorrow, as I will be in town to return an ill-fitting Christmas shirt. First trip to Nelson since before the holidays.
Oh yeah, and I have bright green highlights in my hair. that is all.
