Note to self...

When transcribing fanfic written in a notebook onto your computer, maybe not leave the notebook on the bed with the violently ill cat who's smart enough to figure out after multiple times of being held over something paper-looking (napkins, a paper plate, etc) while getting sick, that you want him to get sick on something paper-looking.

Good thing I have plenty of time to rewrite that bit of the noel_of_spike story. Um, and at least I don't have to wash my blankets. Spectacular aim, that cat has.

Anyhow, after a week of care and getting fed every 2 hours through a tube in his neck, little Buddha is startin to act more kitty-like. The first five days pretty much all he did was sleep and use the litter box -- and even then I had to put him on the floor next to the litter box because he was too weak to jump on and off my bed. He still needs help getting off the bed but he's managed to figure out how to struggle up onto it if he gets impatient for me to lift him back on.

Yesterday he even felt well enough to make a little visit to the living room. All the other cats still hate him because he smells like the vet, but I hope after an eventual bath down the line they'll get over it. Especially our female cat, because Summer would always go to her to get groomed and now she won't touch him with a ten foot pole even when he goes to beg for love. (She really is a bitch.)

I'm not sure when he'll be well enough to have the tube out just yet. He doesn't have the same mental dullness he had when he first came home but he still can't keep food down sometimes. He's still very jaundiced, and though he'll show interest in what I'm eating from time to time, he only laps at food and his appetite is pretty much nonexistent. I have an appointment with the vet tomorrow afternoon to give him a status update and so kitty can get examined.

My final final is also tomorrow night. I am not sorry to see that semester go, although that's probably just because these last couple of weeks have been so hard.
