what i watched earlier today is enough to keep me a vegetarian for a long time. woo.
iron chef from last night (that's right, cuz i luv food network and i really love iron chef)...the challenger brought out some of the nastiest food i've ever seen...for battle garlic -- something i didn't believe was necessary in the least, considering that garlic works so well with so much.
this man, mentally disturbed as he apparently is, chose to use scallops [really gross looking shellfish], squabs [pigeons, ya'll -- pigeons!], and honeycomb tripe [the lining from the second stomach of a cow].
ok -- anyone else ready to barf?
he didn't stop there, though. he plated the "squab" with the head (beak and all) and talon. the head was cracked open in the back. it was served with a cream sauce on the side that contained squab livers. the chef suggested that the patrons hold the beak to most easily suck out the brain.
::shiver::
sorry about the yuckiness -- i had to tell someone.

The Bachelor and the Bobby-Soxer -- hilarious.

i highly recommend it. enjoy.
