Konohagakure no Sato, Friday Morning (Fandom Time) / Jan. 15 (Konoha Time)

Dec 24, 2010 08:16

It was a peculiar thing, Hinata thought, to be able to check with Portalocity and find that your world was suddenly moving far faster than the world Fandom High was on. A night in Fandom and she'd been home for a few weeks already.

Surprisingly, they had not been unenjoyable weeks. )

It was a downright chipper Warren who dialled Hinata's number that morning. It took a bit of doing to refrain from humming carols into the phone, but somehow, he was managing.

Bon Temps wasn't a bad place to be, really.

The phone startled her out of her thoughts and Hinata answered it after a few rings as, first, she had to remember where in her room she'd put it.

"Hello?" And her voice had a faint accent that it didn't usually have. The product of speaking her native language rather than English exclusively for a few weeks.

Warren noticed the accent, but didn't seem to mind. After all, he was in Lousiana right now. A slight... for lack of a better word, he'd call it Japanese accent wasn't so bad, when you took into consideration how he'd be going to church tonight with the rest of the group to listen to people talk in their thick Southern drawls.

"Hey, Hinata! Merry... Uh.. holiday?"

He didn't think that she celebrated Christmas. But he was trying, here.

She laughed, her voice soft. "Merry Christmas," Hinata replied lightly. "That will do for me--and I return the same greeting to you."
