Capitalistic Society

I hate money. I hate my lack of money. I hate living paycheck to paycheck. I want to be better about spending my money. It would help if I actually had money to spend. I would help if I could find a better job. It would also help if my car would sell. If I could find a car with better gas milage that would be a big help. Or get a job in ( Read more... )

It also is what has given us all of those things.

Money is a catalyst. Farmer Joe sitting on his farm has no reason to explore discover or do anything that doesn't involve spending time with his family and growing crops without money. Money drives people to new heights of scientific and creative expression.

I don't think money is a catalyst. We've just turned it into one. But greed has always been one, but so has curiosity. So has a persons own initiative. We shouldn't give money so much power that we credit it for new scientific innovations. As for creative expression, very few people actually make their creative endeavors financially successful. By giving money the credit for these things is almost like belittling humanity itself.

I know what money is, and I know what it accomplishes. I never said money was a new idea. But our current concept of money and capatalism are new. I never said we should get rid of money, I just don't like it. Granted in the last hundred years we have made some huge jumps scientifically, hell in thirty years we've made some giant leaps, but in my opinion capatalism makes the rich richer and the poor poorer. I think there must be a better system. Because trying to apply capatalism to other countries doesn't always work out so well. Instead of moving backwards and live as the Amish, I think we should move forward and find a better way of doing things that helps everyone. Not the greater good, not the majority party, but for everyone. I'm probably an idiot and will never see anything like that in my life time, but hell who knows. Things are changing. And they are changing quickly. I just want our world to be a better place. Because currently it feels like our planet is floundering. If humanity doesn't make a few changes ( ... )

I don't want to create a different society. I want to fix the one we have. But that's just me.
