A much needed vacation (locked to trenchcoatdeath)

Oct 25, 2007 22:28

After her fight with Thirst, a vacation was just what Silvermane needed. She didn't want to risk dealing with the press just yet, and it just so happened that Seto's birthday and their first anniversary fell at about the same time. She'd mentioned the planned trip a bit around the Dragon Society manor, but she left a note saying where she was and ( Read more... )

Certainly after as much work as Seto had been doing lately a vacation was a very good thing to keep him from going insane and/or firing a whole bunch of people for doing a bunch of small and stupid things that were easily overlooked.

Now, on coach he probably would've lost his brain and hurt someone. He'd pretty much never been in coach before and couldn't possibly imagine how things like that would work. Really, it wouldn't be in anyone's best interest.

Private jets were nice but first class wasn't bad either, it was rather quiet and spacious in most cases. And comfortable.

Once he felt her head on his shoulder though he couldn't help the small bit of a smile that was seen on his face. Some things always made people sleepy, apparently flying was her's. He'd have to remember that little tidbit for later.

While lack of sleep and recently flexing her power muscles, so to speak, might have played roles in tiring out Silvermane, yes, flights did make her sleepy. And she remained so for the majority of the trip until one customer began loudly yelling at the flight attendant.

"What do you mean you're all out of Perrier and only have Evian bottled water?! Do you know who I am?"

"N-no idea," whispered Silvermane sleepily to Seto. "But he's loud."

A small growl escaped from the brunette as he glanced towards the loud passenger decided to make a scene. Really, this was a stupid conversation.

"Sit down and shut up. No one wants to hear your complaining." He motions a bit to her, smirking a faint bit. "She's trying to sleep here and if you don't can it I'll make you."

The passenger got up out of his seat, revealing his rather large build. Silvermane really didn't follow sports, but looking at his face, she could have sworn she'd seen his face in a newspaper or something...probably for professional athletics, if his build was any indication.

"You'll do what to me?" he said, storming over.

"Sir, please calm down--" began the flight attendant, before the man shoved her aside and stormed towards where Seto and Silvermane sat.

"I'm not calming down until this guy apologizes for sticking his nose where it doesn't belong!"

Oh boy. Silvermane facepalmed. This wasn't going to end well if she didn't think of some peaceful solution to all of this....

Considering Seto's temper never let him back down? Oh yes, this would end badly.

"You heard me. I told you to sit down and shut up." He didn't even bother getting up yet, glancing to Sil instead for the time being. "Or have all those times of getting hit killed the small brain cells you already have? I doubt you can even read on a third-grade level."

Uh oh. Seto was just fanning the proverbial flames here. It was going to be quite the catastrophic little testosterone-fest if she didn't do something...but how to get him to listen to her if he wasn't listening to Seto, without using her powers was the hard thing ( ... )

But it was fun to bait idiots like that! Fine though, fine. Once she decided to step in he quickly backed off, deciding that it wasn't worth fighting over right now.

"It's over no everyone, just let it rest. We'd like to be left in peace." He tried to be as forceful as he could, typical businessman tone used in this.

Hopefully it'd work, though he insanely doubted that everyone would stop staring. How much longer was this damn flight?

"Um...h-he's right. We're on a v-vacation."

Well, so much for sleeping. The fact that everyone was staring on her put her on edge for the rest of the flight. Thankfully, there was less than an hour left. To Silvermane, it felt like hours.

Eventually, they got off the plane, picked up their luggage, and the cab that Silvermane had scheduled to pick them up and take them to their remote vacation spot arrived.

"I hope y-you like the place I picked," she said to Seto. "It's as private as i-it gets in a tourist attraction."

Not that Seto could have slept to begin with so really he was at least there to talk to through the rest of the flight. Even if he still was a little pissed about certain things throughout the time. Mainly because he wanted to beat the snot out of someone. But that would wear off eventually.

Once off the plane and away from those people though he calmed down significantly, looking the area over a bit. Just memorizing a few things, curious this.

"I'm sure I will, if you picked it." He grinned lightly, oh he was always different out of the press' view.

Silvermane was glad to be on this trip, though even time with Seto didn't fully take her mind off of the things that were stressing her out. The fact that she had flipped out and would have killed a person if that person wasn't immortal was weighing on her mind. As was the fact that the end part of her tantrum had gotten on the news.

She settled against Seto's shoulder for the duration of the car ride, giving herself some peace and quiet, and yet the comfort of Seto's company.

After roughly half an hour's drive, they were at their destination. Though the cabin itself wasn't terribly large, the property surrounding it was large enough that they didn't have to worry about any disturbance to their privacy. As a matter of fact, this was one of the quieter areas. Largely because these places were privately owned and occasionally privately rented.

"N-nobody to disturb us for at l-least half a mile on either side," she said, gesturing to the cabin. "And it's n-not too far from the beach, either."

He didn't seem to mind her head on his shoulder and for good reason, her still being one of the only people he'd ever let pull such a stunt. If one wanted to call it a stunt, that was.

Once they arrived at the destination and got out of the car he couldn't help a small laugh. Oh this was very interesting indeed, "It's perfect. Seclusion and a beach nearby. Just absolutely perfect..."

Maybe he lost his mind, who knows. Maybe he was actually happy for once.

For a minute, Silvermane was able to forget the stresses from home. She was glad that she'd made a good choice for vacation spot. Seto wouldn't call something 'perfect' unless he was thoroughly pleased with it, which meant that some of the 'birthday present' part of the trip had been accomplished. Of course, he was simply going to have to deal with her doing the cooking, and the birthday cake that he'd get with the trip.

He'd eventually get over it, but for the first hour or so he'd probably give a stern and not approving face and then completely forget about it afterwards. Sometimes a guy couldn't win and he knew when to give up, usually. "Well then, shall we head inside?" Standing outside was good fun and all but couldn't stay out there all day.

Silvermane nodded, unloading the suitcases by hand. There was no need to draw unnecessary attention by doing it the 'easy' way, though if they were going to haul the luggage upstairs, she quite likely would take that option. After all, if it was just her and Seto, it didn't really matter.

A couple of minutes later, and the cab driver was well on his way, after receiving his pay and a tip.

Leaning in to kiss Seto on the cheek, Silvermane smiled.

"Happy b-birthday and anniversary."

Seto certainly wasn't going to let her do that by herself, always be a gentleman when it counted. Keyword being counted. Not that they'd weigh that much anyway.

Though later on when she kissed his cheek he couldn't help the bit of a dorky look on his face. Aw. "Happy anniversary indeed." He mused a bit, finding the timing still incredibly convenient.

"Well, what shall we do first, hm?"

"Well, first, l-let's get the bags inside," suggested Silvermane. Afterwards, she planned on making his birthday cake and something to eat. But for the moment, first things first. "Then um...m-maybe it might be a good idea to see what they've got here."

She'd asked for the place to be stocked with food, but she didn't know what was available, and she'd need to take an inventory before deciding on what to make.
