A...well, it looks like I’ve finally come to this school for good. I didn't mean to be a few days late. Hopefully my teachers will forgive me for missing them. I think Ba-chan might have given you (to any of my teachers who may have one of these journals, apparently they're popular here) notice. I'll make sure to catch up on any and all work I've ( Read more... )

.....Cookie bribes. Whatever happened to academic integrity?

They're from my mom, not from me. It's not a bribe...

And I get my pastries from the bakery. Doesn't make it not a bribe.

Eh? I'm not sure I follow your train of thought...

Also, I'm sorry. It's been rude of me to not introduce myself. My name is Ryuuzaki Sakuno.

I don't follow yours. You say that cookies can't be bribes unless you make them yourself? Mom!cookies make perfectly good bribes too.

Right. Hi.

No, that they're even bribes at all. They're not. They're gifts from my mother because she wasn't able to stop in and say hello like she wanted to.

A...ano, can I ask what your name is? I feel bad about talking to you but not knowing who the person is.

There's no such thing as gifts, only bribes.

You can ask, sure. But names aren't important.

That's not a very happy way of looking at things. Don't your friends and family ever give you gifts just because they want to?

If names aren't important, then why do people have them? They let us know who is who...but, ano, will you tell me yours? It really seems rude to not know who I'm speaking to at all.

Happy, maybe not, but it is realistic. Gifts always have an ulterior motive behind them. Always.

They're convenient, but ideally a person shouldn't be known by their name, but by their actions. Just make one up to refer to me by.

Not in this instance. They really are gifts with no strings attached. I haven't seen some of the teachers in a few years.

Then Piyo-san it is. Because if names mean nothing, a silly name means even less.

"Always" and "not in this instance" contradict, therefore you're wrong.

.....|: Silly means a whole lot. Silly means I'm being insulted.

Ano, but what if...what if I'm not wrong?

Eh? But you said to make something up and 'Piyo' is a cute sound...it's the noise baby chicks make so it's happy and spring-y.

No ifs. You're wrong.

I thought your point for names was to tell who's who. You're not going to look at me and think "happy" and "spring-y."

I'm not so sure I can believe that.

Maybe. Or maybe I will. You are 'Piyo-san' now after all.

Come on, don't give up before you've even tried.

But what about the discrepancy between the name and the person?

shy_sakuno April 10 2013, 06:12:43 UTC
Ano, I never said I was giving up, Piyo-san. Just that I'm not sure if I can believe that people only give gifts for some purpose other than for just the joy of giving them.

But you said names didn't matter...
