I really miss building websites....

It just hit me when I opened Dreamweaver for the first time in several months.

I know I have my livejournals and my tumblrs, but it isn't the same as having complete control over your own website. That's what I'm used to, what I started with.

For those of you who haven't known me very long, I started building websites back in 1998/1999 for my Hanson fanfiction. Got my start on good ol' Angelfire.com before eventually buying my own domain in 2003 and then a different one in 2006.

I gave up my domain back in 2010/2011 for money issues and the fact that I was using livejournal and tumblr more and they're free services.

Part of me wants to buy another domain, but then there is the issue regarding content. What the heck would I even put on there? Sure, I could have my tumblr linked to it and have that instead of my current username (theycallmebecca), but I sort of think that people who do that are being prats (or want to drive up their visitor count) so I won't ever do that.

The reason I've owned domains in the past is because that's where a majority of Hanson fanfiction was posted. We couldn't post on ff.net and, while some people did post on livejournal, we seemed to be a community of domain owners, which was pretty cool.

Webdesign was what I wanted to do careerwise, but it never happened. I'd love to be able to do it, but I know there is a lot of stuff that I don't know and a lot of things have changed since I stopped doing it all the time. But I could definitely help someone who just wants to have a web presences and doesn't know how to do it themselves.
